What makes for a good science assessment? How can we make sure students are making sense of a phenomenon using the three dimensions of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) when engaging in an assessment task? How can we insure that tasks are accessible, appropriate, and cognitively demanding for all learners?

This workshop is designed to answer these question by concretely illustrating what three dimensional science assessment is, providing a framework for evaluating and creating three dimensional tasks, and giving participants the opportunity to evaluate both exemplar tasks and their own classroom tasks.

Facilitating this workshop is Aneesha Badrinarayan, Science Associate Director, Achieve, and Nathan Dadey, Associate, The Center for Assessment.
